Addictions

When illness reduces life down to the basics, we begin to see all the things we depended on for  identity and self-worth.  Jesus promises to be enough but until we have to face losing things, we usually don’t pay attention. That angst in our soul – that cries out for relief . . . what do we do with that? How do we feel better? What kind of “fix” do we reach for?

In this podcast, I refer to a book called, “Blessed are the Addicts”  – written by a Catholic Priest who looks at the deeper, spiritual side of addiction. I invite you to listen in and consider what might be the things that you look to for life and fulfillment instead of Jesus.
